Since our childhood, we get taught about resistance. We enlisted it in our daily routine and attitude. We measure our strength through the speed of resistance or how quickly we resist something which is not as we want.
There are many reasons behind our resistance, like, loss of control, Surprising conditions, threats, past resentments, concern about competence, loss of face, and when things seem different as we’re expected. All these reasons resonate with a lack of confidence and with a lack of patience. Acceptance is the answer to all the problems which are you facing now. And When we embrace Acceptance we seem more confident in ourselves. Acceptance is the core of peace. Acceptance helps you in your healing in the phase of rejection or loss, It helps you to practice all the uncomfortable parts; your emotions, your thoughts, your past.
Acceptance doesn’t belong to tolerance.
Here is acceptance means accepting that you see, feel, and think.
Recently I read a book by A Chine’s writer and A Philosopher Laozi’s book The Art Of War.
In this book, he explicated and emphasized the importance of Acceptance.
He says ” Nothing can defeat us if we don’t oppose”
He emphasized that We get defeated when we Resist. Resistance is the biggest reason behind all the consequences we face.
He proposes the power of Acceptance, he says that it’s our resistance that hurts us otherwise no one can hurt us, like, if anyone punching you then you should not resist his punch even you should help him to let you punch.
He narrates a story in his book based on acceptance about A very famous Swordsman who was living in Japan. One day he returns to his home, he saw a rat on his bed, he tried to push it away, he threatened the rat but did move an inch. The Swordsman became angry, he took his sword and attacked the rat but the rat just moved an inch and his sword was fragmented, Swordsman got scared. He sent his message to his village’s most intelligent Cat. A man sent his cat and when the cat came and attacked the rat, the rat again just move an inch and the cat missed its target. She was scared, she thoughts it’s not a normal mouse. So many cats came and they all tried to catch the rat, but they all get failed to catch the rat just because the rat never resist them. It smartly accepted their attack and just moved an inch every time.
Life will bring many challenges, such as loss in business, detachment, the death of someone we love, and it’s not easy to embrace them when we’re suffering and wishing those things would have never happened. But if we start cultivating acceptance in our lives right now, we’ll likely cope with future crises differently and view them from a different perspective. We will accept instead of resisting. Practicing acceptance prepares you to live in this changing world, where you never know what’s going to happen next. Acceptance is like protecting yourself with your own shield.
There are two ways to face our problem, the first is to accept what’s happening, find the positivity in that, and choose a peaceful state of mind; and the second is to fight against it, be miserable, and struggle against the universe. In my opinion, acceptance is the key that converts your momentary happiness into enduring and eternal happiness.
